Hello All, I just picked up a 2012 FZ-8 in March of this year, and I already put 3,000 miles on it. In joining this community I hope to A) talking about modding my fz8 and B) meet people to ride with in the New Jersey/New York area. My fz-8 is my first street-bike experience, although I grew up riding dirtbikes/dualsports (most recently I owned a Suzuki DR-650). The only modification i've done to my FZ-8 is a fender eliminator, although I intend to attach passenger grab bars, and then a slip-on muffler/power commander combo.

Welcome & Congrats on the new FZ8! The fender eliminator is a great start. The mods are almost limitless, if its been done or can done someone here has done it. You've found the right place to accomplish both A and B.

welcome dude I am glad to say you found the right place. I personally would not buy a power commander again in fact I sold mine already. I prefer the additional benefits gained through a re-flash of the ecu.

Welcome, I agree with Shock do the re-flash. There are several ways to go about it but the best seems to be from Turbo Joe who is a member of this site. You can PM him to get more info.

I haven't done any real research on either yet, and it will be awhile before I purchase a power commander, but I will definitely keep your advice in mind when the time comes. Thanks!
