Preferably MODS to increase performance? air box mod slip on air filter gut the cat reflash the ecu r1 cams tires steel braided brake lines suspension all the way around speed is fun but remember your bike will have to be able to stop and handle well via suspension upgrades and tires |

Do suspension...then brakes..then power...I did it all out of order and until I got it all dialed in..it pissed me off to ride..but now..I smile alllllll day! Suspension rear- fz1 gen 2 rear shock, or r1 shock with satan 666 adapter..or other companies do make dedicated shocks for the fz8 I.e. Ohlins, matris, hyperpro(what I have) and tons of other ones...but they are not cheap.(also...11,12,13 are all the same in regards to buying parts...they all fit each year) Suspension front- fz1 internals into your fz8 forks..or i think just fz1 front forks will fit idk though...or an r1 front end swap...meaning forks, wheel, brakes and whatever else that entails...and also you can put in stiffer fork springs with a heavier oil ( I purchased the hyperpro street box which came with a rear shock, progressive fork springs, and a heavier oil) only "suspension kit" I found...and it wasn't horribly expensive. brakes- stainless steel brake lines with dot 4 fluid and ebc hh sintered pads..and IF you want even BETTER braking....a brembo master cylinder and wave rotors POWER!- knock out the cat on your stock headers...or....full exhaust..either akropovich, marthy exhaust solutions custom, graves OR any slip on of your choice with arrow headers k&n air filter..with the air box mod R6 throttle tube (this one does NOT add power..but it feels like it does) smog block off plates/ais block and removal (again...not a power mod..but removes popping as well as increases airflow..so I guess it MAY add power) power commander or/and ecu flash FROM turbojoetuned (member on here) I have both There is also the r779 conversion which puts r1 cams in as well as other tweaks that need to be made for this to work...but it does...there are 3 of them to my knowledge. tires..they add tons to confidence...I am a micheline fan all the way..pilot power or pilot road series...love both...(road series lasts longer...power series in slightly more aggressive but DO NOT LAST ON CALIFORNIA ROADS) |
