I've had my 2013 FZ8 for 8 days now. I rode my CBR250R 250 miles to Salem and traded it in, then rode back the next day on my new bike. I've been loving riding the 800. The power, sound, and ride are leaps and bounds above the 250. I only had that bike for 3 months, but I put a good 1200 miles on it. Just didn't want to pass up the good deal on the FZ8. Thanks.

Welcome aboard mate and congrats on the great upgrade! Don't be shy, jump right in anywhere on the boards and feel free to ask any questions you may have. No such thing as a stupid question around here and there's always plenty of good people around to help out

Thanks everyone! Here is a picture of the bike. I'm trying to hit 600 miles before Thanksgiving, so I can change the oil and get it winterized. It gets pretty cold here in the Winter, so I'll probably only be good until early December, if I'm lucky. This winter I plan on doing the R&G tail tidy, then probably some frame sliders in the Spring. Also saving up for some AGV textile sport pants, already have a textile and leather jacket, along with Alpinestar S-MX2 and S-MX5 boots (purchased used on Ebay), etc. I really do love riding. I'm a 41 year old skateboarder as well, so riding a bike is almost an extension of skating, with line choice and all. Hoping to do a good week long skate/camp trip in the late Spring. Nice to meet your acquaintance.

welcome aboard and don't feel rushed to do any power mods as going from a 250 to 800 is a big jump

welcome aboard and don't feel rushed to do any power mods as going from a 250 to 800 is a big jump Definitely. Just acclimating myself to the 70 odd + increase in hp over the 250. So far it has been a very smooth transition. I'm hoping to get into an advanced rider training class late Summer next year. It's part of the Team Oregon motorcycle training curriculum. Just trying to be the smoothest and safest rider I can be, while still having as much fun as possible. team-oregon.org/resources/video/#vids

Teaches a ton! 70+ hp difference!? What does a 250 have? Like 20 hp!?

Pretty close. 24-26 hp is what I've seen on the interwebs.
