Nope, just the guts. The whole head is better, but you need a bore job for that to work. The FZ8 engine is just an R1 engine with a smaller bore, and shorter stroke. We are a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and KTM dealer. So we got a bike technician, a plane technician and auto technician here now. I'm a jack of all trades in the wrenching world like most are But I work on cng vehicles primarily It's all just nuts and bolts, brother.

I will probably have plenty of questions once it comes time for me to do my valve check!

Okay nice to meet you all.
I have been doing some good research on the internals of the cylinder head conversation. Actually productivity at work has been well done the pan!!
Going to PM our friend above and get some further clarificatio but if all is well I intend on completing this project early in the new year and I will start a thread if there is not one already.
Bit about myself...
Pome (Englishman) living in Aussie Brisbane, almost 30 had a RGV 250 PEPSI (SCHWANTZ) then a 600K5 Gixxer brand new at time....... Met wife sold bike got kid, got married bought house and finally getting back into bikes. the FZ8 was or actually is my sisters until i finish paying her off. would never have chosen this bike but i am soo glad i did i love it. I love that it is a bit of a parts bin and there are so many cheaper alternate mods to do..

The R1 head WILL NOT WORK without boring/blending the cylinder/deck. Before I would bore the cylinders, I would just transplant a previously squid-owned, totaled R1 power plant.

Yes mate I think i may need it.
whats your 24hour number again?
Understand the head wont work due to the bigger cc than bottom end.
I got a price for boring/sleeving and porting just in case i fancy that in future but yeah a whole engine swap is way cheaper. We get our arses kicked with pricing over here
Thanks again... Right wheres my lump hammer

Welcome brother. I believe you are the first 8 spraying. an 80 shot, that's pretty stout! fucking almost double the stock hp. Bike looks good man, nice set of mods. DJ Thanks. N02 is a great thing, but Hollywood spews myths that give it a bad name. I've ridden for 25 years, mainly racing liter bikes, and the 8 is by far my favorite ride. My injuries keep me from riding supersports (riding position). In my opinion, there isn't a sexier ride on the road. Not sure why they didn't catch on. I had a 9 demo, and didn't care for it at all. Made great power, but just felt "cheap". The 8 is the one bike I've ridden that just feels "right". Silky smooth gearbox, smooth power delivery (until you flip the switch, and push the horn button ),and falls into corners nicely. My buddy (our parts manager) has an 8 as well. No go fast mods yet though.

I am going to go the r779 way eventually but the nos intrigues the shit out of me. Just a plug and play? Lots of customizing work?

These kits use the existing EFI sensors to richen the mixture for N02.

Welcome and thanks for all the info! Amazing bike. I know what else I want to do. What year R1 do the cams and valve springs need to be from? Thanks!
