intro: I have been able to get the stuff together and make the brackets. It took me a while to post this because i was working on finishing one for a Gen I FZ1 that was based on the one i designed for our fz8's (also fits Gen II Fz1 and should fit fz6r) but had to be modified because of the swingarm. Sale info: I have 2 brackets ready for paint i can sell now, they are going to be black (or if you dont want them painted for some reason i can do that too.) its not a powdercoat but i use good paint, and a lot of it. I am thinking $28 shipped to the lower 48. If not in lower 48, $25 + shipping. It is made of steel and aluminum. It sticks out about 3" from the swingarm, unlike the others you can buy for $60+ that stick out like 7"... These brackets are good quality, its not going to break on you, i use stainless steel bolts to hold the pieces together. If you want anymore information please ask. this is the first one i made (not quite as good as what youll get) but its on my 8 this is the one for the Gen I fz1, it had to be cut down. I dont think it looks as good as the ones i made for our 8's but the guy was happy with it.

I am very tempted as I love the way they look. However I know WI can be a hardass state about this mounting style.

Even the Harleys cant get away with it most of the time.

Oh man, well the only thing i can think of is i could make the piece that mounts to the license plate shorter and drill the holes so you can put it on horizontally. I would note that youll probably need a license plate frame if that is to be done tho. To keep it rigid enough in the wind. I have seen it done like that though

Sounds like a plan. Can you go ahead and get one going for me and personal message me your PayPal? It's still $28 for the States if I'm not mistaken?

Are you able to make one that mounts under the tail of the bike like a fender eliminator? If you have access to a drill and tin snips then you can make your own for $5. There are four bolts under the tail that hold the whole factory unit on. loosen it up and chase the wires down and remove the thing. Then move what you want from the old assembly to the new one. Here is how mine came out. You can make it as simple or complex as you wish.
