Thinking about selling the old girl, so trying to get her back to stock. I know a lot of people have been removing them, so if you don't plan on using them, would love to buy them from you.
...I messed mine up by drilling holes through them....didn't work as I intended.

Did drilling the holes reduce the performance? If not sell it as is. That is one of the nice things a reflash does, it renders them useless. No need to remove them or modify them.

One of the plates split while drilling, so never got a chance to test it out. I ended up getting some smaller blanks, but I feel the power in the 2k - 4k range is still a bit down. I have the full graves setup with turbojoe's ecu flash, but even with the flash, the low rpm range (i get lazy in the city) feels a bit lumpy.
I believe the FZ1 has a larger throttle body, so I don't think it would fit.

No, according to turbojoe, he just has them open up earlier.

Yea, I think its a bit hard to get the fueling correct in the very low rpm range. The flies, give it just a bit more grunt under the 3k range. Above that, the bike hauls ass (of course thats with a tune and pipes).

most definitely....those are setup for high rpm power right, so bumming around town under low load will not make the bike happy
