Hi. - New Member
UK born, South African raised and now back in London. Been riding my whole life but just recently picked up a mint 2012 FZ8N and I love it. Joined two other FZ8 forums prior to this but very little activity or they were full of BS. I'm hoping this will be different and from reading the intro and a few other bits it seems I may have found a genuinely good group. Here's hoping. Would be great if there are other UK riders here so we could arrange some meets and out rides. Cheers. Will add a pick of my mistress soon.

Welcome aboard mate, I'm in Oz as well and my memory gets a bit hazy after a few JD's but I know for a fact we've had a few pommies but I think they've mostly all gone inactive over time? Sorry if we do have a few active pommies hahaha, country of origin is overlooked after a while. Glad you could join us, you'll find plenty of good stuff buried around the place but the search function is fubar.... feel free to post up any questions as there's plenty of knowledge rolling around in the minds of our community. Slyder - my advice RUN and run away from here as fast as you can. These fuckers will have you rendered stupid before you know it. I developed a twitch in my neck, and I contantly piss myself in public. I find myself naked in bars stanading on tables educating the patrons on matters like bomb disposal and underwater basketweaving. My wife left me as a result and I now sleep with my FZ1 but it's ok as everyone on here thinks this is normal behaviour !!!!!!!!!!! RUN whilst you still can and don't look back in anger, I heard you say !!!!! RUN
Anyway if you do decide stay - Welcome and have a good look around when your having a beer or two, there's some funny shit that cracks me up !!!! Everyone on here's a fuckin comedian !!! But they do know some shit about bikes haha

Haha. Yeah looks like I found the right type of nutters. I'll fit right in, and thanks for all the greetings lads. Will post a pic of the bike soon but don't think the mobile format allows... or I just haven't found it yet but I'll look around and chip in here and there. If I'm the only "brit" I'll try keep you all up to speed on events here. While I'm at it..Was at the London MCN show and saw the new MT10. Love the design, can't hack the under coat colours and dayglo wheels. Any one else have an opinion?

EVERYONE in here has an opinion on the the new ten... Me? The looks aside, it's gonna come down to ride. If it's just an mt09 with a few more berries and a couple of farkles, I'd be very disssapointed.
But it does look as if Yamaha are throwing everything at the new lineup but like all Yamaha's, I wonder what will be the weakness.
You know, how much upgrading will it need to be the bike it wants to be?
Fingers crossed it's a game changer, for the sake of the naked sector.

Welcome from the Heartland of the US. As you can tell we are not normal here. But if you want info on what can be done with the 8 then you have the right spot. Luckily the Aussies are stuck on their little island and the rest of the world is safe. Dennis blames his tablet for the spelling errors but we know that it is just the meds.
Yes we had a couple of members from the other side of the pond but as was mentioned he has not been on for a while. Our Admin is a Brit turned cheese head and is a great guy and a real cunt! He is currently very busy but pops in on a regular basis and keeps us in line.

hey Dennis, I am trying to wangle a work trip to Fremont no guarantee how long it might take, how close to you ? Damnit. Freemont is closer to San Francisco Ca. I am in Orange County Ca. Roughly 400 miles. If you are staying for a couple days I can try to locate Woody who is up that way and have a meet up. I can get up there in a half day. Maybe we could meet up and go to the Solvang M.C. museum. Woody and I have discussed going. Last attempt aborted due to his wrist issues..... I let him know I didnt care about his limp wrist...who am I to judge. When are you thinking of coming out? Mate it won't be anytime soon as I have commitments here and in New Zealand for at least 6 months. Will let you know when the plans are underway. |
