Hello all. I bought a used 2013 FZ8 last week. The only time I got to ride it was on the way home after my purchase since it's not registered. To make a long story short... I will not buy a bike without a pink slip. I went to DMV with the bill of sale and they said I can't do anything with that since it wasn't his bike to sell. I couldn't even give them money to register it since it wasn't in my name. The pink slip will be sent to him in 15 days(15 long business days for me). So until then I get to go into the garage and look at her. In the mean time trying to see what to do to her.

It's a Bay Area rider forum that is great for meet ups and group rides and track days

Been riding street full time for 3 years (fz8 was my first street bike) rode a Harley for a year before I got my bike (borrowed from my pops..cheaper to insure than a car) and rode dirt and raced motocross for a few years...hollister hills, San Jose fairgrounds mx track, Livermore @club moto, and argyl up by Travis Air Force base. Metcalf was my go to spot though, all though it is only trails. i like to ride highway 9 and 35 a lot and end up At alices..I'm sure you've heard of it or been there. Is your bike stock? What are you looking to,do to it? Let me know when you get the pink slip and want to ride

Welcome!!
Damn man, you bought a bike without a title in hand? Fuck thats sketchy! You know if you do not get the title from the previous owner, you are fucked. YOu will not be able to register that thing at all. Fuck sorry about your luck man. Anyways congrats on the bike, hope it works out for you.

I've had to wait on a car title once. 9k for the car and he had to use my cash to pay off the loan to get the title. It wasn't a local bank so after meeting them in person...at their house, getting a bill of sale and the car I did the same thing. Didn't take 15 days but was still nerve racking. All worked out for me luckily.
Enjoy the bike (when you finally can) and welcome!

I was able to modify my bar ends from my sv650 to fit the handlebar as I noticed vibrations when I was riding it home. Hope it helps. Can't wait to try it out Should I get a Power commander or something like that for having a slip on? I'm gonna leave the airbox stock so I can just buy a new filter when the time comes and not have to clean anything. Would having it properly tuned help me maximize my MPG, smooth it out and at the same time more power? Might use this as my commuter since it should be more comfortable than my gsxr. I was also thinking of getting some shogun frame sliders, evotech radiator guard, new mirrors and blinkers. Any opinions or suggestions?

DJ The seller didn't seem like that type of person but you never know. I received a text from the previous owner today that he got the pink slip. (woohoo)

There is a member on this site called TurboJoe, he has the equipment and can do it for a reasonable price. Look in the mods section for ECU Flash and it has what it changes. It is worth it.

I was also thinking of getting some shogun frame sliders, evotech radiator guard, new mirrors and blinkers. Any opinions or suggestions? Nice!! Yea..this bike does have a decent amount of vibrations...it may be the new bars you have.,if they are aluminum compared to steel (stock)..it vibrates a considerable amount more. I shoved a bunch of lead tire weights in my aluminum bars and it worked great! For a slip on, a tune is not nesessary...I ran just a slip on for over 2 years. But if you add a power comander or as Kansas said, an ecu flash (which is cheaper, but requires you to ship the ecu to Los Angeles...takes minutes to flash) you will not gain or lose any mpg, but with the flash, it will free up some power in the bike and smooth the power band out and make it much more fun to ride ( I have raced a 2013 gsxr 600 and won off the line up,to 120 or so) your best bet is to get an ecu flash from turbojoe. Send him a pm. yes..stock mirrors SUCK..I am rocking crg bar end (I had cycle gear brand but didn't like how they folded) but the bar ends allow you too see sooo much more IMO. I want the same rad guard lol..it is nice! Just get led blinkers so you can be seen!
