Welcome to the show. Seems like you got a good start. There is lots of good info on the site. Several members have done the R1 cams. Post up some pics in the gallery.

just wondering if i really need those sprockets and cam chain kit of the R1... i can slot the holes on the fz8 cam sprockets, and do i absolutely need to go PC5 when doing that mod?? (if it just adds some hp because of tuning, i will wait a bit)

You will need to do a dyno pull because your fuelling will be a million miles away from what's safe. So with pc5 or find a tuner that can flash and install map on ecu. Imo the pc5 is better and has more options for changes later on. There is a map on here which you coil use for a small amount of time but who knows what dam as ge in the short or long term you could be doing. Altitude, temperatures, fuel quality and so on all effect the tune.

The r1 running gear is stronger for the extra horses you will gain. Most cams should come with these. You then only need the chain and crank gear.... Its worth whilst your in there getting the stronger stuff installed for piece of mind. When buying the cams just make sure you check for putting, scratches and metal that is blue in colour. This is a good sign of wear.
DJ is your main man here. I learnt most shit I know from him and others. I believe he was the pioneer for this mod

no need to change the chain and sprockets because what influence the required strenghth on there parts are the valve springs(if they are stronger) so your telling me now i need a 500$+ PC5 arghhh and flash my ECU too

Not sure on springs free length and tension etc. The timing chain does a shit done of work... Put it this way I would not put an fz8 timing chain and running gear on the r1 after looking at them side

Sup cunt, welcome to this place.
We're all a bit sideways, some more than others... Some have been lost, some are just lost. Me, I'm just falling apart on this fucking comfy seat
