Just went ahead and purchased one about 10 minutes ago. Spent $70 on it which is more than I wanted, but it claims to come off a bike with 8,900 miles. Which I know could be a complete lie, but I figure its better than nothing lol. Really just hoping it's good at this point. I think I will just get it done and see what it feels like and decide what to do with the spring later. I think I saw a post about where someone did the mod and just didn't get the adapter. Do you know what problems would arise from this? I imagine it is pretty important, but if I don't have to spend the extra it would be nice if you know what I mean lol. My dealer where I bought it has been big into motorcross and uses race tech suspension on all of their bikes. I know the owner pretty well as we have bought three bikes from him. I will be talking to him soon about having my suspension done by race tech and see if he can get me a deal on everything. To be honest, I am just waiting to hear what my dad has to say about all of this haha! He doesn't quite like it when I do modifications to my bike. Also, do I still need to buy the bolt and nut off of partzilla or should the one in the top of it work? Yes you do need the bolt and nut. If I remember correctly the original bolt/nut attaches the adaptor and the new bolt attaches the shock to the adaptor. It appears from the picture of the shock I purchased that it already has the bolt and nut on the top. Wouldn't I just use the bolt and nut on my stock fz8 shock for the top of the adapter and the ones on the r1 shock for the bottom of the adapter? The picture on the post is the one I bought. Just want to make sure before I get everything and then realize I do need the new stuff haha.

That bolt should work, test fit it in the adaptor when you get it. If it's too long or too short order the one posted.

My dips It looks like yours turned out amazing! Any tips to doing it? Did you just use the rattle cans? I ended up with chunks in places along with other imperfections. I think it might be because the white plasti dip is thinner than most of the other colors. I did 2 coats of grey and a lot of white. Don't remember the exact number now. The grey was perfect, but the white gave me fits.

In light coats of course. But I usually put two full cans on my lid when I do it. Depends on the color.

The grey was perfect, but the white gave me fits. So many tips it's crazy First. I've used cans and gallons, I prefer gallons and the sprayer now. Always have a base color. If you want white you need to start with a gunmetal base. Then do your white. If you're doing a bright color you want a white base. But white covers shitty so you need gunmetal, white, bright color. It's gotta have lots of dip on there to be durable and peelable. And whites coverage is poor compared to others. I used an entire gallon on my bike last time (blue) and could have used more. If you're using rattle cans warm them up in a sink full of warm water before you use them. Light coats is key. Must go down looking wet on every pass but not to the point of runny. If and when you do it again hit me up and I can answer just about any question. There's so much more.

Whether or not I do plasti dip again depends on the price of the bianco fuji pearl I'm considering. My uncle has painted a lot of cars, so if I can get the paint for cheap I will probably just do that. If that doesn't happen I will probably redo the bad parts. Can you use a regular paint gun and compressor, or do you have to go with a kit that a site like dip your car offers?

You can use standard professional paint equipment. 1.5 tip on an hvlp and an 80 gal compressor will do better than the dyc gun for sure. The best part. Get tired of it. Peel it. Change the color. Can't do that with paint.
