Hi everyone. I'm another noob here. my names Tyler. I've been riding for three years now. wrecked my 1993 Suzuki gsx600f katana last year(quite the interesting story and I was lucky that night) and finally picked up a newer bike this year being a 2011 fz8 two weeks ago. looking forward to meeting other fz8 owners, learning more about the fz8(looking at mods already), etc.

Welcome Clutch! Where are you from? Tell us more about you and your 8. You have found the best place for info on the 8 and the greatest group of riders to touch a keyboard. We have only a couple rules, no porn or politics. Otherwise it is a just about no holds barred. The search engine is funky so ask if you can't find what you are looking for. Just about everything that can be done with the 8 has been done by someone here.

Sweet another Midwest member! The east coast was gaining on us there for a while. Post up a picture of your new ride and mods or what you plan to do! Curious what's a 2011 going for around here now a days if you don't mind sharing? And you can't mention a wreck that makes for an interesting story without sharing so do tell!

Curious what's a 2011 going for around here now a days if you don't mind sharing? And you can't mention a wreck that makes for an interesting story without sharing so do tell! I defiantly will be posting pics shortly. The fall colors are changing in my photo taking spots hopefully will post some up this weekend. Current mod plans are: Competition Werkes fender eliminator Graves Motorsport frame sliders Graves Motorsports slip on exhaust Moto dynamic sequential LED tail lights When I found my 2011 it was at the dealer for 5,300 blue book value was around $5,xxx. Only has 3,350 miles. Including the title and registration fees I paid $5,500 all together after the price we agreed on which was $5,100. Alright so I was out riding with two other friends of mine out in the middle of no where basically surrounded by farms and forests. Going 30mph around a curve my chain decided it wanted to slip off and catch the tire. I slid with the bike into a small ditch which saved me from going into a tree. If it wasn't for my helmet i probably wouldn't be here typing. Got up checked my self over I was ok besides road rash on my hands, elbow, and side of my left leg. I was wearing shorts, sweater, no gloves. Got the bike standing up. Friends are gone, dead cell phone, it's almost 10pm at night. Luckily they noticed I wasn't behind them and they came back and found me. Called my parents who came to pick me up, and called a tow company to take my old bike back to my house which became midnight by the time we got to my place. This was all on a Wednesday night. I still went to work Thursday wrapped up to protect the road rash. I'm a welder in a small company. Went to the doctor Friday got more stuff to help heal. I even got in my race car and raced Saturday night even though people thought I was nuts

Nice in have a 2011 as well. Bought mine in sept of 2013 for 6200 right as the 9 was coming out and pushing the price down lol. Love the bike though!
You might want to make you're own fender eliminator to save some money. I used a sheet of aluminum and it worked perfect going on 2 years now lol. Also ordered some led bolt lights and put them in the back holes from the stock fender and used the other two holes to mount my homemade FE.
The motodynamic is awesome. If you sign up on their site they will send you a code before almost every holiday where they offer 10% off which covers shipping.
Get an ecu flash after you get used to the bike...it will make you fall in love all over again.
Happy modding!

Welcome aboard mate. Pay no attention to Kansas, he's old, and acts like it. GET OFF MY YARD. Have a root around, ask away if you need advice, there's plenty of that here, and some if it, is actually good. We do have one other small rule...participate. If you don't check in every once in a while, pretty good chance you'll be culled. We like to keep our membership numbers accurate, and not over inflated like another site I could, but won't mention. Go Pack Go

Welcome to the site! Congrats on the bike. Descent start to the mods. Keep an eye out for an FZ1 rear shock, quite a good upgrade for pretty damn cheap.
Sounds like your last crash will teach you how to ride, ATGATT!!!!!!!! Bet your hands felt like shit for some time. Road rash is a bitch!!!! Stop squiding around and keep safe. Oh and how did your chain slip off? You do your own maintenance?
Get into the how to section, lots to learn and mod!!!!

DJ thanks, I seen a few posts about fz1 shocks, I should just take one out of my friends whos selling his lol. yea pretty much for at least a week, but I've been through hell with 14 surgeries since I was born. pain doesn't really bother me one bit. I went into the doctor the Friday two days after I crashed, the nurse asked how much pain I was in being on a scale of 1-10 ( ten being the worst). it was only a two and they were kinda shocked. I learned my lesson from being a squid. stupidity and lack of maintenance is how it slipped off, it was pretty loose. I have another motorcycle(yamaha vstar1100) and two atv's now so I'm no longer going to slack on the maintenance part to keep riding safe. Welcome aboard! Nicest bunch of knuckleheads you have ever met here. thanks
